Tasting notes

The iconic endemic Georgian red grape variety of Saperavi has exclusive importance in Silk Road Edition. Qvevri Generation’s Rose is more of a ruby-red color, more straightforward and full-bodied. 

The wine is characterized by a gentle, airy aroma and taste of various fruits and field flowers, with rare flavors of strawberry and barberry. With An interesting and long finish.

Rose Character

Presenting red dry rose with the most popular red grape in Georgia Saperavi. Saperavi is rarely used for making Rose wine which is why we decided to brand it as our special DNA edition category. 

Saperavi is a Georgian endemic red grape variety. “peri” (ფერი) in Georgian means color. The core of the name might be interpreted as colorful or colorizer. The Acidity level varies from 7.5 to 8.5 grams per liter and the sugar level reaches from 20 to 26% per liter. Saperavi is cultivated in large numbers which makes it the most widespread and mass produced red wine grape variety across Georgia.
